Responsibilities:
- Provides guidance, implementation, and support for Business-to-Business (B2B) Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solutions within an organization. The role involves, 6-8 Years of Experience leading the design, integration, and optimization of EDI systems, ensuring seamless data exchange between business partners, improving operational efficiency, and adhering to industry standards. Responsible for both technical and strategic aspects of EDI projects.
- EDI Solution Design and Implementation: lead the design, configuration, and implementation of EDI systems and solutions for B2B communications. Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective EDI solutions. Define and implement EDI transaction sets, data formats (X12, EDIFACT, XML), and communication protocols (AS2, FTP, SFTP, VAN). Ensure that the EDI solution aligns with organizational and partner requirements, ensuring smooth data exchanges.
- System Integration and Architecture: oversee the integration of EDI systems with other enterprise applications, such as ERP, CRM, TMS, and WMS, to ensure seamless data flow across the organization. Design and implement interfaces that connect the organization’s internal systems to external partners’ systems, 6-8 optimizing end-to-end processes.
- EDI Mapping and Data Transformation: lead the mapping of data between internal systems and external partner formats (EDI X12, EDIFACT, etc.). work with developers or use EDI tools (IBM Sterling B2B, Seeburger, SAP PI/PO) to create data transformation rules and ensure accurate data mapping and validation.
- Business Requirements Gathering: collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements related to EDI. Translate business needs into technical specifications for EDI solutions that meet functional and regulatory requirements.
- Vendor and Partner Relationship Management: act as the primary point of contact between the organization and external B2B partners (customers, suppliers, vendors, etc.) for EDI-related activities. Lead discussions on EDI onboarding, establishing communication protocols, and agreeing on transaction formats and business rules with partners. Assist in negotiating service-level agreements (SLAs) and ensuring that EDI communications meet agreed-upon standards.
- Project Management and Delivery: lead EDI implementation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the defined requirements. Coordinate resources across internal teams and third-party vendors, managing project timelines and milestones. Create and maintain project documentation, including functional specifications, technical documentation, and training materials.
- Compliance and Security: ensure EDI processes comply with industry standards and regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, SOX). Implement security protocols for secure data exchange, ensuring encryption, authentication, and secure transmission of sensitive business data.
- Troubleshooting and Support: provide ongoing support for EDI operations, identifying and resolving issues related to data transmission, mapping errors, and system integrations. Troubleshoot system or communication issues and resolve them in collaboration with internal teams or external partners. Provide training and guidance to team members and business users on EDI processes and troubleshooting techniques.
- Continuous Improvement: identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions to optimize EDI processes. Keep up-to-date with new EDI technologies and industry trends, recommending new tools, methodologies, or protocols to improve the efficiency and scalability of EDI systems. Evaluate existing EDI systems and suggest improvements or new implementations to meet evolving business needs.
- Documentation and Reporting: maintain comprehensive documentation for EDI processes, system configurations, and integrations. Provide regular progress updates to senior management on project status, performance metrics, and any challenges faced during implementation.
