What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Miramar Pain Treatment Center?
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients as they arrive at the medical office
- Register new patients and update existing patient information in the electronic medical records system
- Schedule appointments for patients, including follow-up visits and referrals to specialists
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical services
- Collect patient co-pays and process payments for services rendered
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Assist with medical administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operations
Skills:
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems such as eClinicalWorks, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
- Previous experience in a medical or dental office setting is preferred but not required
