We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Lifeguard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all pool guests while providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
Ensures Safety & Rule Enforcement
- Enforces all Club safety and conducts rules to maintain a secure environment.
- Supervises and observes swimmers at all times, maintaining constant surveillance and scanning the assigned area every 10 seconds.
- Rescues swimmers in distress and provide immediate assistance.
- Walks the pool area to monitor activities, prevent accidents, and provide instructions to guests.
- Responds swiftly and appropriately to injuries, illnesses, and emergencies, administering First Aid, CPR, and other lifesaving techniques as required until emergency services arrive.
Pool Operations & Maintenance
- Conducts and records routine pool chemical checks to ensure proper water quality.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and organized pool deck, aquatics office, and locker rooms.
- Regularly inspects facilities and reports unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to management.
- Assists with opening and closing duties for the pool.
- Manages lost and found items in the pool area.
Member Services & Communication
- Provides general information on pool operations, rules, and safety guidelines to members.
- Registers members and processes payments for guests, swim lessons, and other aquatic activities.
- Maintains open communication with members and their families regarding swim lesson progress and future goals.
- Ensures a high level of customer service, creating a welcoming and positive experience.
- Keeps accurate records of lessons taught, scheduled, and purchased.
- Promotes aquatic programs and encourage participation.
Teamwork & Professionalism
- Attends and participates in all mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.
- Works collaboratively with other Aquatics staff and Club departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor, following uniform requirements.
- Represents the Club at events and support special pool activities as needed.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Pool Manager, Lead Lifeguard, or Management.
Experience
- Good attitude and highly motivated self-starter.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
- American Red Cross First Aid certification.
- American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Lifeguard certification.
- Experience as Lifeguard preferred.
- Experience in teaching swim lessons preferred.
- Extremely strong communication skills using spoken and written words in a professional manner to members, guests and staff.
- Must be able to handle stress in a healthy and professional manner.
- Must be able to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
- Has the ability to learn new technologies as necessary.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
- Ability to keep information confidential and operate with honesty and integrity.
