Landscaping Crew Lead

Miranda's Landscaping, a trusted landscape service provider for the Vandenberg Space Force Base Housing Community, is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and leadership-oriented Landscaping Crew Lead. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of a landscaping team, ensuring efficient completion of tasks while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of landscapers, providing direction, training, and support.
• Supervise the execution of lawn care maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and edging, ensuring work meets quality standards.
• Oversee the operation of hand tools and machinery for various landscaping tasks.
• Coordinate tree care, grounds keeping, and other landscaping activities to enhance outdoor aesthetics.
• Ensure team members follow proper safety protocols and equipment handling procedures.
• Collaborate with the project manager to ensure schedules and project deadlines are met.
• Perform quality control checks on completed work, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees and support ongoing development.
• Foster a positive and productive team environment, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Previous landscaping experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead a team.
• Experience in irrigation, turf care, and pesticide application is a plus.
• Strong familiarity with landscaping tools and gas-powered equipment (e.g., trimmers, blowers, mowers).
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both in English and bilingual settings, to guide team members.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift, bend, and handle equipment for extended periods.
• Safety-conscious, fast-paced work approach, with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Requirements:

• Valid ID and ability to pass a background check (required for base access).
• Reliable transportation (current registration and insurance required for base access).
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Bilingual or English-speaking preferred.
