What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer Manager position at Miratech?
Reports to: Plant Manager
Cooperates with: Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing
Primary Responsibility: Leads and Manages ISO9001 quality program for compliance with standards. Tracks, communicates, and processes customer quality issues with the organization. Monitors site performance KPIs and assists in developing organization improvements. Assists in developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Leads and Manages ISO9001 Program for Prior Lake Facility.
- Manage quality complaints from customers, ensuring resolution in a timely manner.
- Conduct root cause analysis on quality and warranty claims and implement preventative measures
- Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to the manufacturing process.
- Create training material, monitor progress, and ensure general understanding of the quality requirements.
- Coordinates internal and/or external audits, prepares audit schedules and reports that include in process quality dimensional, visual, system and process to maintain control of processes, document all audit results.
- Assures product and process quality by designing test methods, improving process capabilities, establishing workmanship standards, conducting training, and overseeing quality inspection programs.
- Comply with all OSHA Safety and DEQ Environmental regulations.
- Develop and maintain calibration programs.
- Work with critical team members on first part approval processes and external production part approval processes.
- Develop and maintain statistical process controls where needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Qualifies You:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline Preferred
- 3 years’ experience managing ISO 9001:2015 program.
- 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; sheet metal welding shop desired.
- Attention to detail.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Organization skills.
- Be able to work with little supervision.
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing.
- Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
