Wellness Membership Coordinator
Job Summary
Spa Mirbeau is seeking a Wellness Membership Coordinator for our state-of -the-art location in Albany, NY. The perfect Mirbeau team member will be personable and enthusiastic about helping our members find the balance and healing they need. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Wellness Membership Coordinator must have the ability to build rapport and lasting relationships with prospective and current members to build a strong referral base for retention purposes. The Wellness Membership Coordinator will join our roster of fitness instructors in teaching fitness classes suitable to their certifications. This is a part-time role.
Role & Responsibilities
Membership
- Be the wellness membership "Ambassador" to welcome members, prospects and guest to the Spa
- Give tours of the spa and fitness areas as requested
- Responsible for selling club memberships
- Perform new member orientations including a review of the club rules and regulations
- Host and organize wellness events and programs onsite to promote increased revenue and value to membership program
- Maintain up to date membership accounts including charging accounts
- Effectively respond to club members and prospective members
- Draft member and prospective member correspondence
- Coordinate the membership application process
- Maintain proper billing systems and monitor payment plans monthly. Assist with guest billing adjustments as necessary
- Assist and train all staff with questions on membership sales and policies
- Respond to member opportunities with prompt and responsible attention as well as provide adequate follow up/ tracking with the appropriate managers
- Stay current on the latest thinking pertinent to the department and become well-versed and trained in its application
Wellness
- Maintain and add to the wellness class schedule with diverse offerings to attract attendance by current and prospective guests and members
- Oversee the fitness/wellness staff. Manage schedules, work with HR to keep current on all administrative maintenance tasks including compensation changes, trainings, discipline and performance evaluations
- Provide follow up training/communication to all current fitness and wellness instructors on the Mirbeau Standards & Procedures
- Maintain updated protocols to reflect any changes
- Take the lead on fitness recruitment and hiring
- Track and submit payroll information regarding instructor pay, classes, private sessions, and workshops
- Oversee and maintain fitness equipment for Yoga and Motion Studio
General
- Work cooperatively and professionally with all departments
- Attend regular meetings as directed by the Spa Management
- Maintain a general knowledge of property policies and offerings
- Maintain respectful and clear communication with management team regarding any occurrences involving associates or guests that require attention
- Awareness of current company standards and policies. Uphold company values and monitor staff to ensure standards are met at all times.
- Participate in promotional activities
- Maintain flexible onsite office hours with an assigned location to ensure a smooth flow of operations. Hours may include days, evenings, holidays and weekends
Qualifications, Skills & Educational Requirements
- Certification in Group Fitness; multiple certifications a plus
- Previous sales experience preferred
