Family-owned and operated, Mirbeau Inn & Spa is a nationally renowned destination resort brand.Job Summary Mirbeau Inn & Spa Plymouth is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager. All Restaurant Managers report to the Director of Food & Beverage. This position oversees the dining operations in the Bistro, Aqua Terrace, Garden Bar, and Room Service. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for ensuring that all staff promote gracious and guest focused service in these outlets. In conjunction with the Director of Food and Beverage, the Restaurant Manager is responsible for the training, coaching, and counseling of the restaurant service employees (to include service staff, bartenders, hosts, bussers and event staff) to ensure work performance is up to the Mirbeau Inn & Spa's standard of excellence, professionalism, and friendliness.Pay Rate: $55,000 to $65,000 Based on experience Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct the restaurant service team to meet and exceed all guest needs. Assist staff with day to day tasks, problems, and needs concerning equipment and food supplies. Ensure the prompt and efficient service of all meals, snacks, functions and beverages.
  • Ensure all human resource policies and practices are applied consistently while adhering to all federal, state and local laws.
  • Constantly monitor staff appearance, attitude and degree of professionalism to ensure their strict adherence to The Mirbeau Inn & Spa standards of quality service.
  • Adjust staffing levels as business volume warrants and make staff scheduling adjustments and changes as needed.
  • Maintain organized and clean service areas.
  • Assist in the maintenance of par levels for all china, silver, glass and linen.
  • Oversight of catering events when required by the Director of Food & Beverage.
  • Take and monitor reservations, create floor plans and manager blocks as necessary.
  • Monitor sidework assignments for the service staff; assist with assignment modification where appropriate.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Food & Beverage and the Head Bartender, assist with the ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory of all beverage items.
  • Complete knowledge of current packages to include Spa and Room Packages.
  • Attend staff meetings, events, and other functions required by management.
  • Promote good public relations and handle complaints and concerns of guests.
  • Recognize and address potential intoxicated, disruptive or undesirable guests.
  • Properly handle and report all guest accidents and respond properly to any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • Cash out servers & bartenders at end of their shift (after sidework completion).
  • Assist the Director of Food & Beverage in the planning of organized training sessions on topics dedicated to improving staff knowledge, sales, and service techniques.
  • Expert knowledge of Resort Suite in ringing up sales, printing checks, closing checks, corrections, voids and completing closing readings.

Qualifications, Skills & Educational Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in restaurant/food service industry preferred.
  • At least 2 years prior experience managing a high volume, fine dining room; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in all aspects of Food & Beverage industry.
  • Ability to work day & evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work the standard five-day work week consisting of 8-to-10-hour shifts / 45 hours average per week.
  • Thorough knowledge all food and beverage items offered, including ingredients, method of preparation and proper service.
  • Excellent people skills
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Ability to maintain a friendly yet unobtrusive manner with all guests when greeting them, seating them, throughout their dining experience.
  • Ability to promote teamwork and foster a harmonious working environment.
  • Ensure the proper care, security, and maintenance of hotel equipment through proper supervision and service personnel.
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality of all guests and pertinent Mirbeau Inn & Spa information.
  • Ability to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgment.
  • Ability to focus on attention to details.
  • Ability to remain calm and courteous in demanding and difficult customer situations.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
