POSITION SUMMARY
The MEP Manager is responsible for supporting selected Miron project teams on all components of Mechanical (Fire Protection, HVAC, Refrigeration and Process), Electrical (Power, Lighting, Low Voltage, Controls), and Plumbing during project preconstruction, planning, construction, systems turnover, start-up, and closeout phases.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Be an internal MEP consultant to the Miron project team during preconstruction. Provide input and coordination relative to system selections, designs, and bid package development. Assist and coordinate mechanical costs in conjunction with estimating team.
- Coach the project team (Owner, Design Partners, Trade Partners and Miron) to help achieve successful outcomes in their technical interactions with MEP Designers and Trade Partners.
- Provide MEP specific review and comment as part of the Miron project planning process. In select instances, participate in equipment reviews, Trade Partner scoping and field assessments to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Assist the Miron team and applicable Trade Partners in the development of systems turnover plans for MEP systems on select projects. Train project staff when needed to achieve successful implementation of turnover and startup phases including delivery of turnover packages to the client.
- Organize and conduct system turnover walkdowns, identifying deficiencies and training others to do so.
- Assist in the commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and I/C systems with a focus on critical or high risk settings.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive technical knowledge of mechanical equipment, system design/selection and the construction turnover (CTO) process.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in similar role is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- General understanding of building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes.
- Strong grasp of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design and construction concepts.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
A combination of office and construction project site.
