Job Summary:
The COAX Cable Splicer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of coaxial cable systems. This includes splicing, troubleshooting, and ensuring optimal performance of our telecommunications infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Splicing and Installation: Perform splicing of coaxial cables in both underground and aerial environments. Install connectors, terminations, and other necessary hardware.
- Maintenance and Repair: Diagnose and repair issues with coaxial cable systems, including signal degradation and physical damage.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Use specialized equipment to test and troubleshoot coaxial cable systems, ensuring optimal performance and connectivity.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of splicing and installation activities. Document work performed, including any changes or updates to the system.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company and industry safety standards and protocols. Ensure that all work is performed in a safe and responsible manner.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, providing clear and concise information about work being performed. Address any concerns or questions they may have.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including engineers and field technicians, to ensure seamless operation and maintenance of the telecommunications network.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in coaxial cable splicing or a related field. Experience with both underground and aerial splicing is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using splicing tools and equipment. Strong understanding of coaxial cable systems and signal transmission.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training or coursework in telecommunications is advantageous.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various environments, including outdoor settings and confined spaces. Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment, and work at heights when necessary.
- Driving License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
