What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator- Civil Underground position at Mirra Construction?
Mirra is looking for an experienced heavy equipment operator for our civil underground divisions; Electric, Telecommunications and Natural Gas.
Responsibilities Include:
- Must be able to operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to, backhoes, excavators, loaders, skid steers
- Must be able to operate in a safe and controlled manner near people, buildings, vehicle traffic, and other underground utilities.
- Must be able to interact daily with supervisors and coworkers professionally.
- Support team members on site for daily work activities
- Participating in project planning, Jobsite safety analysis and pre task planning
- Monitoring the safety of the site and keeping it free of unnecessary hazards
- Be able to lift 50lbs
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Must pass pre-employment random drug screen
- Mass CORI check
- OSHA 10 certification in construction
- Valid Dot medical card, or able to obtain one
- Massachusetts 2A required for Massachusetts work, both 2A1C is preferred
Pay is based on experience and skill level and may have opportunity to negotiate pay rate. Pay is an hourly rate and figures shown are expected yearly earnings. There is the option and availability for overtime.
