The Outpatient Manager will work with the Divisional Vice President of Operations or Regional Area Director to maintain the high ethical standards and professionalism of the clinical staff and treatment environment. The position is designed to provide supervision and on-going training to counseling staff concerning treatment methods, curricula development, and clinical skill development. Persons in this position or similar positions will provide counseling services of 90% caseload and 10% supervisory documentation approval. The Outpatient Manager will be expected to increase direct counseling services should the need arise due to counseling staff turnover, counseling staff time off work due to vacation, illness or training needs and/or funding restrictions or reductions. In the absence of the Outpatient Managers supervisor, the Outpatient Manager will deal with the day-to-day clinical operations of the facility including any crisis intervention for the clients and staff. They shall operate in accordance with the policies and procedures determined by the Board of Directors and as implemented by their supervisor(s). All parties shall abide by all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, specifically, those related to the Kansas Department of Aging & Disability Services, Community Services & Programs Division standards (standards for licensure/certification of alcohol & other drug abuse treatment programs) and other contractual agreements encumbered by the agency, to include but not limited to agreements with the Beacon, Kansas Department of Corrections, United States Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the United States Probation Office. The duties of this position may be quite varied and include curricula development and implementation, clinical supervision, administrative tasks, in-service trainings, marketing, and assessment of counseling staff.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and approve all facility clinical documentation (treatment plans, diagnosis, discharge summaries) in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the development of the facility or program schedule, assist in marketing, and handle any crisis that may arise in supervisors absence.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance of standards and expectations of the agencys funding and licensing authorities. Work closely with the counseling staff to ensure proper documentation of the written client record. Establish a system of regular file utilization review and generate reports to superiors as requested regarding this issue.
  • Assist with scheduling and facilitation of the waiting list, incoming, transferring, and discharging of clients, if necessary, to maintain program utilization.
  • Cross train and/or monitor with staff from other Mirror facilities, if needed, to maintain quality assurance.
  • Ensure standardized curriculum is implemented as designed.
  • Monitor client movement within modalities.
  • Be responsible for a caseload of 90% clients and 10% supervisory documentation approval. Counseling duties include both individual and group/family counseling of clients. Complete of treatment related paperwork.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a degree in social work, sociology, psychology, counseling, substance abuse counseling or closely related field is required. Masters degree is preferred but relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a masters degree.
  • Minimum 2 years paid experience providing substance abuse counseling to the addicted population using evidence-based practices.
  • Minimum 1-year paid administrative experience. Administrative experience in a treatment setting is most desirable.
  • Licensed in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Professional Counseling required. Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of the DSM V and the ASAM criteria. Experience and certification in the use of the ASI, SASSI, and KCPC is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required as well as the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise the work of others.
  • Must be able to handle change and have effective organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work in concert with the Divisional Vice President of Operations, Area Directors, and Clinical Supervisors.
  • Display consistent, good judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge in the disease of addiction and the various modes of treatment.
  • Knowledge of the criminal mindset and persons with anti-social, et.al., personality disorder(s).
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with the resistive, chemically dependent client.
  • Must be able to pass background check.
  • Employees who have been diagnosed with any type of substance use disorder or behavioral addiction/ compulsion must have sustained a minimum of two consecutive years of abstinence from all intoxicating substances and symptoms of their chemical and/or behavioral addiction; and they must be in full sustained remission.
  • Must be proficient in computer skills and/or experience or skills with an Electronic Health Record.
  • This position may also involve bending, walking stairs, and lifting up to 40 pounds on occasion.
