Position Summary
Mirum is seeking an Intern, Commercial Market Access to support the company’s pediatric and adult rare disease franchises over a 12 week program, beginning in late May. Reporting to the functional leads of various Market Access teams, this individual will contribute to key initiatives in Value and Evidence, Field Payer Account Management, Patient Services, and Pricing. This role will provide exposure to all aspects of patient and payer access and involve collaboration with cross-functional partners. The Intern will gain hands-on experience in shaping market access strategies, gathering insights from customers, and developing resources and tools that help improve access to therapies for patients with rare diseases.
This is a hybrid role, requiring time spent in the Foster City based home office as well as travel to pre-determined field-based engagements.

Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Shape market access strategies that improve patients access to medications
- Create and deliver payer value resources, ensuring alignment with commercial strategy and compliance with all medical, legal, and regulatory requirements
- Track and analyze key quality of access metrics while enhancing reports for Mirum market access teams
- Research and track all patient drug and prior authorization denials while providing support to patient services team to ensure prescription pull through
- Contribute to efforts to individualize patient care and treatment through optimal weight based dosing, optimal dosage form for patient, and prompt treatment initiation
- Provide support and resources to educate physician offices on the reimbursement and prior authorization process for Mirum products
- Conduct market research and participate in payer steering committee meetings to inform current and future payer engagements
- Assist field payer account leads with account management responsibilities such as targeted payer messaging and custom account planning
- Attend and represent Mirum at industry conferences, medical congresses, and other events where there is an opportunity for market access engagement
Education/Experience
- Current enrollment in a Master’s or Graduate level program focused on Public Health, Health Economics, Managed Healthcare or related disciplines are preferred
- Experience or coursework in health economics, healthcare policy, or public health policy preferred
- Familiarity with market access principles, including payer reimbursement, health policy, and patient assistance
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret healthcare data and policy information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment
- Ability to adapt to and pivot quickly as a result of ever changing external and internal pressure points
- Ability to travel
