Position Summary : The Music teacher will have dual roles in working with our community of learners. This position involves teaching general music to our PK - 1st grade students and teaching strings to our 2nd - 6th grade students.
Specific Duties Include :
- Responsible for creating and implementing General Music lesson plans and creating and directing music performances for grades PK-1.
- Responsible for teaching string instruments, including violin, viola, cello, and string bass for grades 2 - 6.
- Assess students in daily performance.
- Assist students in performance opportunities.
- Coordinate and assist other performances for events such as the Open House for Prospective Students, Grandparents’ Day, and Dance Recital.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers regarding cross-curricular learning and rehearsing for weekly assemblies.
- Have a basic understanding of sound systems, microphones, and monitors for assemblies and performances.
- Collaborate with other Woodward North music teachers concerning classroom- and performance-related issues, including accompanying and assisting with directing.
- Shared responsibility for running the sound system for various programs, including weekly assemblies and other programs.
- Shared responsibility for maintaining the costumes and props room.
- Other duties as assigned.

The Orchestra / General Music Teacher, Woodward North position is an exempt, 10-month position.
