Essential Job Duties:
- Coordinate successful closing of monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing activities.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Analyze monthly financial results, develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and economic models, and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Coordinate audit activities with independent auditors.
- Ensure timely and proper accumulation of job costs and revenue documentation.
- Perform post-audit reviews of significant jobs and analyze KPIs to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and recommend opportunities for growth.
- Handle all general accounting responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and guide the A/P, A/R, and payroll departments on accounting matters, fostering professional development and team efficiency.
- Manage payment processes for subcontractors and produce monthly reports on their status.
- Partner with senior management to achieve P&L and cash flow targets.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and safeguard company assets
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Strong proficiency in cost accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Experience with ERP systems; ViewPoint software experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Attention to detail with the ability to spot discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills to guide and develop accounting staff.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work at a desk and in an office setting for extended periods.
- Ability to lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
- Proficient use of office equipment such as computers, printers, and telephones.
- Advanced use of computer software such as Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (ViewPoint or equivalent accounting software).
- Familiarity with financial analysis and reporting tools.
