Misericordia is currently hiring for a Community Day Services Instructor (CDSI).
Candidates should feel comfortable assisting participants in finding, developing, and accessing community partners on a daily basis, and exploring areas of interest in the community, to include those that are employment related. Ideal candidates would engage with community organizations and enjoy supporting individuals in a variety of community settings. A CDS Instructor/Trainer may also be asked to assist with employment centered training (job coaching) in the community. The ideal candidate would be comfortable under high pressure situation, and handling emergency situations as they occur, and frequent changes in daily settings and duties.
CDSI QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of one year experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities
- Has a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and is comfortable driving vehicles of all sizes
- Ability to work without direct supervision the entire shift, and positively represent Misericordia
- Ability to interact with community members with ease and confidence
- Ability to demonstrate reliability, flexibility and adaptability
- A high degree of professionalism
- Committed to ensuring the rights of the residents
- Ability to encourage participants through a discovery process to help plan their day with an emphasis on quality community-based programming
- Basic computer and writing skills
- Committed to meeting Misericordia’s high environmental, personal care and active treatment standards both on and off campus
- Ability to organize, manage resources, meet deadlines and work independently
- Ability to meet CDST/CDSI essential functions
- In good standing in regard to attendance and punctuality
- The schedule is generally consistent, but flexibility is appreciated to meet the needs of the department
- High School diploma for Trainer position
- Bachelor's degree for Instructor position
Pay: $21.00-22.00 an hour
