Misericordia University seeks a dynamic and strategic leader for the position of Program Director of Exercise Science, starting August 2025. This is a non-tenure-track faculty position, to be hired at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, that carries with it significant administrative responsibilities, including recruitment and retention of students, preparing the program for accreditation through CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs), learning outcome assessment, budgeting, hiring, and scheduling of faculty. A Masters in Exercise Science from a university that is accredited is required at the time of appointment; a doctorate is preferable.
The director will advance the program within the university community as well as throughout northeastern Pennsylvania. They will foster a dynamic, respectful, and challenging learning environment within the program and university. Candidates should have meaningful experience in face-to-face and virtual classroom instruction, course design, and learning outcomes assessment. Prior experience in leadership and supervisory roles, especially in the context of successful (re)accreditation, are highly desirable.
