Misericordia University invites applications for the position of Program Director of Social Work, starting Fall 2025. This ten-month, non-tenure track faculty position, to be hired at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, carries with it significant administrative responsibilities, including the recruitment and retention of students, the maintenance of accreditation standards and leadership through the CSWE reaccreditation process, program learning outcome assessment, budgeting, hiring and scheduling of faculty, etc. An MSW in Social Work from a university that is accredited is required at the time of appointment; a Ph.D. is preferable.
The director will be expected to advance this established program within the university community as well as throughout northeastern Pennsylvania. They will work to enhance a dynamic, contemporary curriculum by which undergraduate students will learn content and skills consistent with CSWE accreditation requirements and with NASW professional guidelines. They will foster a dynamic, respectful, and challenging learning environment within the program and university fostering integration and collaboration.
Candidates should have meaningful experience in face-to-face and virtual classroom instruction, course design, and learning outcomes assessment. Prior experience in leadership and supervisory roles, especially in the context of successful (re)accreditation, is highly desirable.
