Sourcing Assistant
Job Summary:
Mishimoto is looking for an entry-level Sourcing assistant. This role will report to the Production Manager. In this role you will develop international sourcing and detailed project management skills to lead Mishimoto’s effort in balancing the geographic diversity of our supply base. You will strengthen and diversify our supply plan by hunting down new suppliers outside of China and developing them to be reliable and trustworthy suppliers to Mishimoto.
What You’ll Do:
- Explore and obtain new sources, methods, and suppliers, primarily outside of China, to ensure a reliable supply of materials.
- Work hand-in-hand with our SE-Asia sourcing team and 3rd party geo-specific sourcing entities.
- Obtain samples from potential new suppliers, and partner with engineering team members to review, inspect, test, and approve samples.
- Obtain quotes and compile detailed analysis cost comparison to justify supplier transfers.
- Employ project management skills to track detailed status of each new supplier in development.
- Provide clear and accurate status updates to the Sourcing Team.
- Negotiate cost, capacity, packaging, quality, and all other details necessary to smoothly transition production from existing suppliers to new suppliers.
- Work closely with direct supervisor, CPO, COO and other internal team members to assist in the development and execution of global sourcing strategy
- Develop, collect, and maintain supplier audit records, supply agreements, and other supplier-related documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Creds:
- Bachelor’s Degree is in Business, Supply Chain, Sourcing or related field.
- 0-1 Year experience in global sourcing and purchasing of manufactured goods
- Ability to travel globally.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Extra Credit
- Experience in Sourcing physical goods abroad
- Experience with project management tools such as WRIKE

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
