Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Verification Coordinator to join our healthcare team in Bechtelsville, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and verifying insurance coverage for patients, ensuring accurate billing processes, and serving as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
- Verify and validate patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility prior to service
- Process insurance authorizations and referrals for medical procedures and treatments
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their insurance coverage and financial responsibilities
- Coordinate with insurance companies to resolve coverage issues and discrepancies
- Maintain accurate patient records and insurance information in the electronic health record system
- Review and update patient insurance information regularly
- Follow up on denied claims and assist in the appeals process
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies
- Generate and analyze insurance verification reports
- Collaborate with billing department to ensure accurate claim submission
- High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in insurance verification or medical billing
- Proven experience with medical billing software and electronic health record systems
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements
- Medical billing certification preferred
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and work independently
- Experience in handling confidential information with discretion
