Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles and the ability to teach students of all ages, from preschoolers to adults. This role requires creativity, patience, and a love for sharing the art of dance with others. The Dance Instructor will be responsible for developing engaging lesson plans, fostering a positive learning environment, and encouraging students to express themselves through movement. Styles preferred are Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical for ages 3-9. Available on Tuesdays and Fridays as well as occasionally subbing Monday-Saturday.
Duties
- Design and implement dance curriculum tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
- Teach various dance styles, ensuring students understand techniques and choreography.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their skills.
- Organize and lead dance rehearsals for performances or competitions.
- Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress and expectations.
- Collaborate with other instructors to create interdisciplinary programs or events.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching methods.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dance instruction, with proficiency in multiple dance styles.
- Experience working with children, including preschool-aged students, is highly desirable.
- Skills in behavior management to effectively handle classroom dynamics.
- Ability to engage in adult education and provide tailored instruction for adult learners.
- Additional skills such as sewing costumes, cooking for events, photography for performances, or special education experience are considered a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to foster relationships with students and their families.
- A passion for dance and the ability to inspire others through teaching.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
