We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team who is extremely organized and can juggle lots of responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this position is able to handle multiple projects at once, prioritize projects, and use strong interpersonal skills to work closely with clients. This is a great opportunity for an individual who has previous experience in a busy environment, and enjoys working with people and handling a high volume of accounts.
Responsibilities for the Role of Accounts Receivable Specialist include:
- Complete various stages of obtaining reimbursement from commercial and insurance payers for services rendered by Missing Piece clients
- Maintain accurate records of actions taken on behalf of clients to obtain reimbursement for medical services provided
- Contacting insurance companies by phone and via written forms of communication such as formal appeals, secure messaging through insurance portals, and email to recover denied charges
- Input billing from Missing Piece clients and ensure there are no rejections through follow up on insurance portals and through the electronic clearinghouse
- Be available to our client’s clients to answer questions about their patient responsibility statements
Key Requirements/ Experience in an Ideal Candidate:
- Knowledge of and competency with HIPAA compliance
- Knowledge of accepted healthcare insurance billing practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel
- Can conduct web-based research
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and oral
- Basic mathematical computing abilities
