Job Description
Position: Primary Care Physician: Family Medicine-MD
Position Status: Part-time/Full-Time
Job Locations: 1) San Fernando Valley - 2 clinic's in North Hills, 1 clinic Panorama and TBD Mobile Clinic (other locations HIRING as well: SB/Los Angeles, Pomona, Corona, La Puente)
We are looking to hire a compassionate, mission-oriented Board Certified/Board Eligible Primary Care Physician in Family Medicine. Candidate must be committed to providing quality health care to an indigent and culturally diverse population. Candidate shall establish medical evidence based on the individual's statement of symptoms and medical assessment that includes the results of a physical health examination review of medical history, signs, symptoms, and laboratory findings. A form for documenting findings has been provided by the County as a guide.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide primary care treatment in accordance to standard medical practice protocols
- Record medical history and provide physical examinations and follow-up care
- Provide individual patient instruction in accordance to prescribe treatment plan
- Prescribe appropriate medication to patients as needed according to medical protocols and standard medical practice
- Identify physical, nutritional and/or lifestyle problems and refer to appropriate on-site and off- site resources
- Identify psychological and emotional problems/issues and refer to on-site or off-site resources
- Consult with Medical Director or specialty physicians for patient evaluations as needed
- In conjunction with Medical Director, update Medical Protocols on an annual basis
- Adhere to Quality Improvement guidelines and participate in Quality Improvement programs for chronic diseases
- Supervise Mid-level practitioners as assigned
- Work closely with Nutritionists/Health Educators in order to provide appropriate education to the patients
- Participate in Provider meetings and QI Meetings as required
- Serve as a preceptor instructor to Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or medical students assigned
- Attend conferences and seminars when requested and comply with continuing education requirements
- Provide trainings to Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and other clinic staff, on periodic basis
- Quarterly Peer Reviews
- Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Satisfactory completion of an accredited training program
- Current license in the State of California as a Family Medicine physician
- Board Eligible / Board Certified
- Current BLS
- Minimum of one year of clinic experience preferred
- Must relate well to all cultural and ethnic groups in the community
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish (preferred but not required)
- Ability to be flexible
- willing to assist covering other regional clinics, as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of medical practice related to outpatient health and occupational health, group health as required.
- Knowledge of medical policies, regulations and procedures.
- Skill in developing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
- Skill in developing and maintaining medical quality assurance and quality control standards.
- Ability to react calmly, objectively and effectively in emergency situations.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Additional Information
Full-time benefits (30 hrs/wk) include: Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance. Vacation, Sick, Holiday pay, and all other benefits mandated by law.
Physician License, DEA, up to $400 CME reimbursement for eligible full-time 30 hrs/wk (after completing probationary period).
