(PACS) Picture Archiving and Communications Coordinator
Position Summary
The PACS Coordinator si responsible for day-to-day operation of PACS equipment including image workflow, archiving, auto routing, and prefetching and other related activities, oversees equipment maintenance and systems testing, upgrading, and installing, acts as liaison between the Radiology department and customers, works closely with unit operations managers to
ensure timely and complete capture of DICOM digital image data into the PACS system as wel as network transmission, RIS validation, and exceptions handling.
Act as point of contact for al upgrades and installs. The position serves as the key
communicator regarding the consistent value associated with digital image distribution
Interfaces with PACS vendors, modality vendors, radiologists and hospital staff regarding PACS / RIS issues. Acts as liaison between radiology and other departments related to medical
imaging initiatives and procedures and assisting with existing ro new medical imaging endeavors.
Responsible for Database maintenance, interface processes monitoring and troubleshooting and reconciles exams that may be incomplete. Address system and user problems. Address report quality issues, including addendums. Interact with vendor to try and resolve recognition issues experienced by Providers. Troubleshoots and resolves problems, including the resolution of technical problems as needed, on an ongoing basis.
May initiate, facilitate or lead meetings with end-user/business owner and
other technical teams.
PACS administrator demonstrates independence and participation in team projects: translating
customer needs, meeting deliverables, status reporting, and managing customer relationships and expectations.
Assigned to various work/projects ni Radiology and IT.. and demonstrates an ability ot successfuly complete assigned tasks/assignments, proactively communicate with manager to prioritize workflow and mitigate risks, track issues and provide solution oriented escalation, and understand project management methodologies.

PACS Coordinator
One year experience with PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System)
equipment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
Must be able ot work effectively communicate across al staff/management levels both written and verbally.
Experience with internal IT support and friendly helpful attitude is a must.
