What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Analyst position at Mission Critical Partners?
The Business Analyst will work on our Data and Software Integration Services (DSIS) Team and will facilitate assigned projects by serving as a liaison between users and developers, setting and communicating goals, and evaluating and refining results. LOCATION
- Jefferson City, Missouri (Hybrid with some onsite requirements)
- Conduct daily systems analytics to maximize effectiveness and troubleshoot problems
- Develop meaningful and lasting relationships with partners for optimized systems integration, and respond to questions and concerns from managers and executives with supporting research and recommendations
- Partner with other stakeholder teams across business units (i.e., sales, finance, security, compliance) to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with production, managerial, and executive teams
- Evaluate, analyze, and communicate systems requirements on a continuing basis, and maintain systems processes, including the delivery of monthly status reports to all appropriate parties
- Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation
- Collaborate with business staff to thoroughly understand the needs to be supported by the information systems and technology
- Determine how changes to the project will affect the business and systems
- Provide recommendations regarding the evolution of the system
- Respond to inquiries and provide advice to the client regarding current and potential system inputs, processes, and outputs
- Negotiate plans and timeframes, ensuring that clients understand the anticipated result
- Develop and communicate detailed specifications for implementation
- Produce reports, timelines, and graphics to communicate expectations and progress to management, customers, investors, and other relevant parties
- Maintain and ensure proper documentation and coordinate or perform testing of system modifications
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure the needs of the client have been met
- Research and analyze the nature, effect, and results of system difficulties
- Satisfy data sampling, project analysis, testing verification, and other user requests from existing client databases
- Act as liaison with Information Technology and/or outside vendors to support relevant systems
- Maintain current understanding of industry standards, trends, and best practices through industry and other professional networks
- Assign tasks/work to team members (including contract staff) to complete contractual agreements on behalf of the company and project.
- Provide expert advice to clients and advise on the advantages and disadvantages of different products/services
- Implement management policies or operating practices within the project assignments.
- Carry out major assignments in completing the projects assigned.
- Provide expert advice to management to assist in responding to potential new business (RFP’s and Bid Responses) in the areas the individual has experience.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field required
- At least 5 years of proven experience in analytics and systems development capacity
- State Government Experience
- High proficiency with SQL language and database management
- Proven analytical abilities
- Practical experience generating process documentation and reports
- Excellent communicator with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications, including Visio
- Proven capabilities in project and user-testing management
- Proven development of innovative and impactful systems solutions
- Extensive experience with data visualization
- Highly proficient technical writing capabilities
