Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Consulting Systems Engineer with expertise in modern Microsoft technologies. The ideal candidate has extensive experience migrating and managing Windows Server environments, a strong background in Microsoft 365 administration, and cloud-based collaboration solutions. Experience with Azure infrastructure, automation, and security best practices is highly desirable.

Additionally, experience with networking and IT systems administration is required. Familiarity with remote monitoring and PSA tools such as ConnectWise is a plus. This role requires the ability to work within small to mid-sized business environments, supporting both physical and virtual IT infrastructures.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support Windows Server environments, including server migrations.
  • Maintain, migrate, and support the Microsoft 365 Product portfolio.
  • Administer and support Azure-based infrastructure, including Virtual Machines, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and Networking.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot TCP/IP networking, VLANs, and related services.
  • Implement and manage remote access solutions, including VPN, SSL VPN, and Remote Desktop Services (RDS Gateway).
  • Support and troubleshoot firewalls, antivirus, and backup solutions.
  • Manage and support virtualized environments, particularly VMware Hypervisors with SAN implementations.
  • Provide consulting, technical support, and troubleshooting to clients across various industries.
  • Work directly with clients, ensuring timely communication and proactive IT management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve IT processes and client service delivery.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Microsoft MCITP or MCSE Certification (preferred).
  • Proven experience with Windows Server administration and migrations.
  • Hands-on experience managing Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Virtual Machines, Networking, and VDI.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewall policies, NAT rules, etc.).
  • Experience with hardware-based firewalls (Meraki, FortiGate, Palo Alto Networks, etc.).
  • Virtualization experience with VMware Hypervisors and SAN storage solutions.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles (least privilege, MFA, secure communications) and cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO). CompTIA Security or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong customer service mindset.

Additional Skills (Preferred but Not Required)

  • Experience with Linux administration.
  • Familiarity with ConnectWise PSA and RMM tools.
  • Previous consulting experience in professional IT services.
  • Passion for cybersecurity and protecting clients from online threats.

Position Details

  • Location: Local travel within Colorado's Front Range area.
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional off-hours for projects.
  • Compensation:
  • Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 per year
  • Performance-based bonus
  • Comprehensive benefits package (health, retirement, etc.)
  • Travel Requirements: Must have a reliable, insured vehicle in good working condition.
