YOUR CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Community Real Estate Finance Director, the Community Real Estate Accountant will lead all day-to-day accounting operations of over 38 residential / commercial properties, the development projects, and the corporate entity. The CRE Accountant will support the finance team members to ensure that MEDA has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and conduct flawless audits. This position requires a deep knowledge of accounting, understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, and intercompany transactions. This is an onsite position requiring 5 days in the office.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process AP invoices and payments and maintain master vendor tracker
- Prepare and maintain sub-ledgers and schedules to reconcile GL accounts
- Work with CRE team on draw requests and perform sources and uses reconciliation
- Manage AP and AR aging
- Prepare recurring and non-recurring journal entries
- Ensure every transaction has supporting documentation and is audit ready
- Assist in preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Assist in the preparation of all account schedules and other requests from the external auditors for the annual financial, compliance and other audits
- Prepare, analyze, monitor progress and report financial information and supporting schedules in an accurate and timely manner : clearly communicate monthly, quarterly and annual financial results keeping Finance team and all stakeholders informed
- Proactively identify and implement process, workflow and system improvements and efficiencies to standardize, automate and streamline operations.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as requested
