What are the responsibilities and job description for the HRBP w/ Union Experience position at Mission Edge?
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience.
- 5–7 years HR Generalist experience, including at least 2 years in an HR Director-level role.
- Proven experience in labor union environments, including collective bargaining, grievance resolution, and contract interpretation.
- Certifications: SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP PHR/SPHR or PHR-CA certification is required (or willingness to obtain it within six months).
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and best practices, with an emphasis on labor law and union-specific regulations.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, payroll software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
- Experience with project management tools like Monday.com or Basecamp is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients and assess organizational needs.
- Strong administrative skills: highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

- Support clients with recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes.
- Develop and update job descriptions, employee handbooks, and HR policies tailored to client needs.
- Conduct training for employees, supervisors, and managers, including union-specific topics.
- Serve as the point of contact for employee relations issues, ensuring proactive resolution and maintaining positive workplace environments.
- Administer benefits programs, including open enrollment, claims resolution, and employee communication.
- Provide payroll support such as time-off tracking and timesheet review.
- Manage HR projects, including technology implementations, process improvements, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Employees and clients trust you with their HR needs and view you as a key advisor, especially on union matters.
