_ Mission Foods is a growing part of a much larger, multinational organization, Gruma Corporation, and its parent company, GRUMA S.A. de C.V. _
The Packer is responsible for the proper hand-packaging of quality corn or flour tortillas and/or fried products.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for following Good Manufacturing Practices, especially good hand-washing practices.
· Hand package corn or flour tortillas and/or fried products.
· Always look at stacker mirror to watch for tortilla and or fried product jams.
· Check the appearance and quality of tortillas/fried product.
· Check bags to make sure proper packaging is being used.
· Ensure catch-pan is cleaned constantly.
· Inspect tortillas/fried product to assure they are free of foreign materials or contamination.
· Maintain rework containers closed.
· Rework the tortillas/fried product according to their formula.
· Keep work area clean.
· Report to work on-time to relieve the previous shift.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
· Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
· Must know how to read, write, add, and subtract.
· Able to work flexible schedule and weekends.
· Able to stand for long periods of time.
· Able to lift up 50lbs.
· Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
