The Skilled Nursing Facility Business Office Manager is responsible for overseeing all functions of the Business Office. The Business Office Manager will interact with nursing, social services, and admissions to ensure all resident information is communicated timely and accurately as it relates to accounts receivables. The primary responsibilities are maintaining daily census, billing and cash collections, and the accurate reporting to corporate personnel.

The Skilled Nursing Facility Business Office Manager is responsible for overseeing all functions of the Business Office. The Business Office Manager will interact with nursing, social services, and admissions to ensure all resident information is communicated timely and accurately as it relates to accounts receivables. The primary responsibilities are maintaining daily census, billing and cash collections, and the accurate reporting to corporate personnel.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Timely billing/collection for Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care (Room and Board, Private Pay and ancillaries) claims.
- Processing resident refunds in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate with insurance companies to define billing requirements and assure proper payment of claims.
- Ensure daily reconciliation of petty cash, monthly reconciliation of Resident Trust and quarterly issuance of statements.
- Prepare, verify, and mail resident statements timely.
- Produce collection letters in accordance with policy and procedure, ensuring documentation of all collection efforts.
- Ensure daily deposits are made.
- Perform and oversee the financial screening process on all new residents and residents changing payer types.
- Ensure integrity of all resident financial data, auditing, and adjusting accounts for completeness and accuracy when necessary.
- Respond timely to family members/resident with all private billing inquiries.
- Track Medicaid approval and re-eligibility process.
- Perform month end close of the PCC system timely and accurately.
- Assist resident with Representative payee of Social Security checks.
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
- REQUIRED: 1-2 years' experience in health care related accounting/billing.
- REQUIRED: 1-2 years' experience billing Medicaid, Medicare, and Private insurance
- Preferred: experience with Point Click Care.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
- Computer knowledgeable including word and Excel.
- A desire to work with seniors.
