Job Summary and Qualifications
Health Plans are creating new business models with Physician Organizations by creating a new set of economic incentives. The resulting changes in physician behavior may impact local hospital markets; redistributing market share through changes in the physician care process and referral patterns. Mission Health Partners was organized as a Clinically Integrated Network meant to align physicians and other providers in western North Carolina to respond to payer-driven changes in healthcare and assume joint accountability for cost and quality outcomes in alignment with innovative payment models. The role of the VP is to design, develop and implement strategic plans for the Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. The VP is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the CIN, including managing staff and developing business plans in collaboration with the Board of Directors for the future of the CIN. The VP is the senior leadership role for the organization, responsible for motivating and mentoring management and staff. The VP leads the organization and develops its organizational culture. The VP will be accountable for all operational activities within the organization – including but not limited to overseeing staff, membership growth, budget, managing company assets, and other company resources, to ensure that the CIN is able to provide population health services to members in a high quality and economically sustainable way. In addition, the VP has the ultimate oversight of MHP’s performance of payer contract responsibilities including, but not limited to, provider enrollment, network management and cost and quality data reporting
What qualifications you will need:
Required Education: Master’s Degree in business or health care administration or similar field
Required Experience: Requires a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in healthcare administration or physician operations. Operations and/or leadership experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed:
- High knowledge of and substantial work experience with physician organizations involving payer payment models, including both financial risk and value based arrangements
- In depth knowledge and experience with health plan alternative payment and alignment models
- Experience managing high level relationships with physician organization in the market and health plan leadership.
- Strong understanding of physician alignment models in market
- Strong strategic thinking skills and knowledge of MSO operations
- Ability to create affinity with physician organizations and assess alignment barriers and provide solutions
- Knowledge and familiarity with various legal and regulatory models in the creation and operation of innovative payment models.
- Ability to understand healthcare systems and translate their needs into a stronger alignment within the market.
- Ability to research, understand and explain healthcare services, utilization, volume, and market data
- Ability to actively listen and respond to the needs of large accounts including physicians, network administrators, payers and division leadership
- Ability to execute multi-level action plans across multiple departments
- Ability to design, develop and implement growth and alignment strategies.
- Ability to efficiently prepare and present reports at an executive level.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in education of internal staff, external customers, and physicians.
