Description:
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for basic electrical and plumbing repairs and maintenance. Conducts a variety of preventative and restorative maintenance duties. Follows established city and state building codes.
Duties:
Major job functions include Assisting the Director with preventative and restorative maintenance including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repair; weekly checks of all roof top equipment; repair requests for assigned areas including repair of wheelchairs, beds, light fixtures, etc. In addition, the Maintenance Assistant is responsible for patching and painting walls and replacing ceiling tiles and electrical outlets as needed; running ethernet and coax cable when needed; reports and records information pertaining to preventative maintenance; keeps facility grounds clean; assists with setting up special activities and resident room changes; upholds facility policies and procedures; and all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Applicants with nursing facility Maintenance department experience are strongly encouraged to apply. To qualify for this position, we would prefer two years of experience in mechanical, electrical and plumbing repair. HVAC and general contracting experience is a plus. Must have a valid GA driver's license. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must be able to work weekends as necessary. Must be able to perform the physical job demands of the position. Requires the ability to exercise confidentiality to ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
