- Part Time
- Weekend shift mornings or evenings
- $20-$26 hourly DOE
- The purpose of this position is to prepare and provide food service to patients in a cost-effective, efficient manner and to safely meet patient needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
- Handle and prepare food in a sanitary manner.
- Prepare and assist in serving meals in accordance with the menu and recipes.
- Meet regularly with Food Service Director regarding menus, service, procedures, etc.
- Keep work area clean and sanitize work surfaces after food preparation.
- Prepare and assist in serving meals in accordance with the menu and recipes.
- Maintain and record proper temperature controls, food storage and food rotation.
- Understand and be able to prepare therapeutic diets.
- Be responsible for avoiding food waste.
- Assume responsibility for meeting meal schedules.
- Be responsible for care of food service equipment.
- Work cooperatively with food service staff and other departments.
- Attend in-service training programs for food service employees and as assigned.
- Report any unusual incidents to the Food Service Director, Executive Director or Manager off Duty.
- Perform any other duties as required by the Food Service Director, Executive Director or Manager on Duty in an effective, timely and professional manner.
Requirements
- Minimum of (1) year experience in restaurant cooking and general kitchen operations.
- (1 - 2) years healthcare food service experiences preferred
- Requires high school education or equivalent.
- Must possess the ability to read, write and speak English. Must possess strong oral, written and
- telephone skills.
- Must be dependable
- Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
- Must be in good health and physically/mentally capable of performing assigned tasks
- Must possess knowledge of safe sanitation practices, safety practices and special diets
- Certified in First Aid/CPR Obtain a Food Handler’s Permit
- Capable of meeting all requirements that may be specified by the state or other regulatory
- agencies.
