Job Summary and Qualifications
The Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist assists the Laboratory Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory programs and activities consistent with Department Leadership direction; provides technical guidance to all laboratory positions and is expected to function as a bench MLS performing both routine and complex laboratory analysis and / or identification procedures on blood, tissue, and body fluids without direct supervision. Assists in monitoring quality control data to insure that results or procedures are accurate and precise and as needed performs administrate functions in the absence of the Laboratory Manager.
