The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical technology or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of progressive laboratory management experience in complex laboratory operations. A bachelor's degree in medical technology, biomedical science, biology, or chemistry is required, and a master's degree is preferred. National certification as a medical technologist is also mandatory.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading and monitoring employees, departmental performance, and staff development to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, timelines, and regulatory requirements. You will also develop monitoring systems for the collection, documentation, and reporting of quality assessment and improvement data.
You will have the opportunity to evaluate existing systems and processes, develop corrective action plans for service/quality trends identified, and initiate changes to improve the overall ability of the department to meet the customer's needs for laboratory services.
