Are you excited about this Cyber Security Engineer - Senior Level job?

As a key member of the N2W Active IT and project team, the Cyber Security Engineer will play a vital role in advancing the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Technical Security Program. You will utilize your systems engineering and security expertise to ensure compliance with National Security Information (NSI) requirements. Your responsibilities will encompass developing and documenting the N2W Cyber Security architecture, creating roadmaps, and outlining investments for future IT capabilities, including secure wireless, IoT, and cloud solutions. You'll act as a technical liaison, collaborating with contractor and government personnel to address technical requirements, develop mitigation strategies, and create system security plans. Your ability to perform analyses of alternatives and produce comprehensive engineering assessments will directly contribute to enhancing cybersecurity protocols.

This position demands a hands-on approach in a multi-contractor environment, requiring effective communication and collaboration with diverse teams to ensure the successful implementation of cutting-edge security solutions.

What you need to be successful

To excel as a Cyber Security Engineer within the N2W Active IT team, candidates must possess a strong foundation in systems and security engineering principles. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for navigating complex technical challenges and developing innovative solutions. Successful candidates should demonstrate excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively with both contractor and government personnel, ensuring alignment on cybersecurity objectives. A solid understanding of compliance requirements related to National Security Information (NSI) is crucial, as is the ability to conduct thorough analyses of alternatives and produce superior engineering assessments.

Furthermore, adaptability and a proactive mindset are vital for assessing emerging IT capabilities, such as secure wireless and IoT technologies. Experience in project management and a keen ability to articulate technical concepts clearly will enhance collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and facilitate the successful implementation of security strategies. Strong interpersonal skills will be invaluable in fostering a spirit of cooperation and excellence throughout the program.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Math / Science / Engineering / Information Technology Management or IT related degree.
  • 10 years of cyber security experience in authorization and accreditation of large and complex IT system.
  • Information Assurance (IA) baseline certification per DoD 8570.01-Manual for Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level III.
  • 2 years demonstrated experience implementing DoD/IC secure wireless strategies and policies, such as Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC).
  • CTIA or CISSP certifications.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • M.S. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or IT related degree.
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience designing and implementing Wired and Wireless Technology.
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience with securing emerging cloud and hybrid cloud environments and technologies.
  • CEH certification.
