What it's like to be a Systems Engineer - Foundation GEOINT Mission Planning Technical Lead - Mid Level?
As a Mid-Level Systems Engineer at Mission Intelligence Group, you will be instrumental in guiding our engineering teams through a multi-disciplinary approach to critical projects across the National System of Geospatial-intelligence (NSG) and the Allied System of Geospatial-intelligence (ASG). Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including requirements engineering, scheduling, and test evaluation, ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate GEOINT solutions. You will conduct in-depth planning and analysis, focusing on user requirements and system architecture, while continuously seeking ways to automate and enhance existing systems. Mentorship of Junior Engineers will be a key aspect of your role, as you develop their skills in crafting innovative solutions based on emerging technologies.
Additionally, you will assist the Government in translating mission needs into effective systems requirements, support systems integration activities, and engage in strategic planning and risk management. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of vital national security missions.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program, or equivalent Mid Level work experience as a Systems Engineer.
- Mid-level working experience in government or industry in relevant work areas including: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process or system engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments.
- Mid-level working system engineering experience in government or industry.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools and languages.
- Working knowledge of Software Development Frameworks.
- INCOSE Associate System Engineering Professional (ASEP) certification.
- Documented work experience in the field of geospatial intelligence.
- Membership or active participation in any of the following professional organizations:
- ACSM
- ASCE
- ASPRS
- OGC
- SAREM
- USGIF
- Working knowledge of photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems, geomatics, or related fields.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises.
- Working knowledge of NGA data, systems and architecture related to, but not limited to, the following GEOINT realms:
- NGA FG Requirements Management
- Political Boundaries
- Controlled Imagery
- Elevation Modeling
- Topographic Modeling
- Human Geography
- Aeronautical Safety of Navigation
- Maritime Safety of Navigation
- Geodesy and Geophysics
