Mission Market is seeking a skilled and friendly Barista to join our team. Our shop takes pride in serving a wide range of coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages, açaí bowls, gourmet toast, and paninis. As a Barista, you will be responsible for creating high-quality coffee and food items while providing excellent customer service to our valued patrons.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and brewed coffee.
- Create and present açaí bowls, gourmet toast, and paninis according to customer requests and menu specifications.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of all coffee drinks and food items.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the coffee bar, food preparation area, and dining area.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring a positive and personalized experience.
- Operate and maintain coffee brewing equipment, grinders, blenders, and other kitchen appliances.
- Handle cash and operate the cash register, ensuring accurate transactions.
- Assist in inventory management, including restocking supplies and monitoring stock levels.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, following proper procedures for handling and storing food items.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role is preferred.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage preparation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other coffee shop equipment.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
