THIS IS A FULL - TIME, YEAR-ROUND POSITION (MAY THROUGH OCTOBER ON MACKINAC ISLAND, REMOTE DURING WINTER MONTHS)
Mackinac Arts Council, Mackinac Islands' only arts and culture agency, is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Administrative and Development Associate. This full-time position is located on Mackinac Island and offers competitive pay and other perks.
The ideal candidate would be a responsible, organized, detail oriented and confident individual to assist in, and support, fundraising efforts for the organization. This individual has solid experience in problem-solving, project management, and fundraising.
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary role of the Administrative and Development Associate is to support the Executive Director in work establishing, implementing and maintaining development to deliver the mission of the Mackinac Arts Council (MAC) including administrative and support tasks related to special events as directed by the Executive Director.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in grant writing with a successful track record
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills
- Strong research and organizational abilities
- Organized and efficient in supporting administrative tasks involved in the planning, directing and controlling the activities of MAC under the direction of the Executive Director.
- Proven ability to problem solve and multi-task with attention to detail
- Excellent people skills with the ability to assist in the training and motivation of others
- Ability to develop detailed and specific procedures and processes outlining the steps to follow in completing department and/or project tasks.
- Excellent writing, grammar, & spelling skills, including basic graphic design capabilities
- Must be self-motivated and demonstrate effective time management skills
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Excel Spreadsheet, PowerPoint, Adobe, Google Docs, Canva, Wix, Network for Good or comparable donor software, Sign-Up Genuis or comparable Volunteer management software.
- Experience with photography, videotaping, Zoom/Microsoft Teams helpful.
