JOB SUMMARY
The Global Packaging Manager will provide leadership and workflow expertise to optimize packaging procedures and ensure accuracy. This position will manage global packaging specifications, provide supply/inventory oversight, and implement standards for dry goods quality control. This position will collaborate extensively with all cross-functioning teams within the supply chain to ensure timely completion of all new packaging. The manager will utilize best practices to ensure that package integrity is maintained throughout our distribution environment. He or she will ensure that deadlines and deliverables are consistently met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Manage and track newly developed dry supplies across Mission’s global distribution network as it pertains to specifications and quantities initiated by new packaging programs. This will require partnering with all global units to initiate implementation.
§ Maintain and update all global dry goods specification sheet information (technical and artwork) that can be easily accessible to key departments. This will include critical inventoried dry goods including, but not limited to, boxes, labels, bagging materials, and pallets.
§ Manage the change control form (CCF) process. This will require advising key personnel to initiate the process to make sure all key parties have approved the CCF in a timely manner.
§ Verify that all certifications and requirements are met based on specifications, regulation guidelines, and customer requests.
§ Perform random specification verifications for quality assurance of all current and global packaging. This will require auditing current inventory of dry goods to verify accuracy to master spec. This will also include auditing suppliers to verify the accuracy of technical specifications. Must maintain documentation of verification.
§ Work with customer specific staff pertaining to packaging development and changes. Can require submitting information specification information on customer dashboards/websites.
§ Work with third party packers/growers, in conjunction with global QA units for packaging integration, verification on the specifications in order to ensure quality and accuracy.
§ Works closely with US Quality Assurance on packing specification and item creation.
§ Strategically coordinate transfers of dry goods across our North American supply network, while maintaining documentation of transfers.
§ Manage all non-conformities and work with suppliers to create/maintain corrective action reports at a global level. This will include overseeing the quality and safety of dry goods and addressing suppliers as needed.
§ Consistently generate reports, which include but are not limited to dry goods movement reports, standard operating procedures, verification, non-conformity related, and audit reports. Must be able to analyze and act upon reviewed information with solutions in a timely manner.
§ Help coordinate and manage dry goods testing trials for existing packaging products with new suppliers. Will require collaborating with Purchasing and other key internal partners to update and prepare for final vendor approval.
§ Validate and qualify new dry goods suppliers via existing qualifying methods.
§ Provide technical packaging knowledge as requested by various departments.
§ Will be responsible for processing orders on key material items.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
§ Bachelor’s degree in food industry or related field. Relevant experience may also be considered.
§ Minimum 3 years of related experience preferably within a consumer-packaged goods environment.
§ Proactive and able to continuously manage change in an extremely fast paced, energetic work environment.
§ Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills.
§ Project management expertise.
§ Analytical capabilities.
§ Proven ability to lead and motivate groups and individuals to work effectively in a team environment.
§ Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines.

§ Limited travel - both domestic and international.
