Responsibilities
The Hemodialysis Tech in the Dialysis Unit is an unlicensed person who assists with activities of daily living, provides transport and basic nursing care to patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and / or unit. Under close supervision of a licensed nurse, provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients based on competence and age specific guidelines. Assist with set up and prep of patients undergoing Dialysis treatment under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate preferred.
- Current BLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current.
- Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
