Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Band Saw Operator to join our client’s team. The Band Saw Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining band saw equipment used in the cutting and shaping of wood scaffold planks. The ideal candidate will have experience with band saws, excellent attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor band saw equipment to cut and shape wood planks to specified measurements.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of cuts according to project specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the band saw equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues with the band saw.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Keep accurate records of production, including materials used and the quantity of planks cut.
- Inspect wood planks for defects and remove any unusable materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in operating band saws is a plus.
- Previous experience operating band saws or similar woodworking machinery in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to lift and move materials up to [Insert Weight] lbs and stand for long periods.
Pay is $15/hr. with OT available.
