VP, Data Governance – Private Credit & Insurance

Our client, a prominent global investment management firm located in New York, is looking to hire an experienced Data Strategy and Governance Lead to spearhead the creation and execution of a comprehensive data strategy for its expanding Private Corporate Credit and Structured Credit division. This role will be pivotal in establishing and overseeing the firm’s data governance framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving operational efficiencies across various financial sectors, including private credit, liquid credit, asset-backed finance, and structured finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a unified data strategy to enhance the firm’s capabilities across a range of financial sectors, with a focus on Private Corporate Credit, Liquid Credit, Structured Finance (ABS, MBS, Loans, Bank Debt, HY Bonds, Corporate Credit, Emerging Market Credit), and more.
• Design and establish a scalable data architecture that supports advanced analytics, business intelligence, and streamlined data management.
• Build and maintain a robust data governance framework to ensure the integrity, security, and privacy of data, in line with industry regulations and best practices.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams in Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance, IT, and other business units to optimize data systems and drive the adoption of innovative technologies.

Qualifications:

• 10–20 years of experience in data strategy, governance, and architecture, ideally in the financial services sector.
• Proven experience managing financial data, particularly in private credit, structured finance, fixed income, and asset-backed finance.
• Expertise in data management, big data technologies, and cloud solutions, with a strategic approach to leveraging these tools for business success.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Snowflake; familiarity with Python is a plus.
