BSA Analyst (Senior)

For our Mission Valley Bank location in Valencia, CA, we are seeking a seasoned BSA Analyst. This position is responsible for performing a variety of fraud detection related activities in support of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Customer Identification Program (CIP) regulations designed to prevent financial-related crimes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of fraud detection related activities in support of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Customer Identification Program (CIP) regulations designed to prevent financial-related crimes.
  
• Perform independent analysis for cases involving suspicious activity including, but not limited to,
  Structuring, account behavior, and source of funds.
  
• Generate and assist with Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
  
• Assist with Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs).
  
• Facilitate and perform periodic (90 Day) SAR follow-up reviews.
  
• Assist and perform High Risk Customer Reviews completed throughout the year.
  
• Maintain a solid working knowledge (functional and operational) of the rules and regulations, including but not limited to, BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC as well as the Bank's policies and procedures.
  
• Perform background checks of potential and monitor existing merchants with internal tools and external resources to assess merchants' compliance with terms of Service.
  
• Identify and measure each merchant's risk, make appropriate decisions and find optimal solutions on mitigating potential risks.
  
• Work closely with merchants to make them compliant with internal policies and requirements of payment partners.
  
• Understand and investigate the risks with any new merchant, and help develop policies and procedures to prevent and address possible risks
  
• Bring any suspicious activity to the attention of a supervisor, or the Bank Secrecy Act Officer.
  
• Follow all Bank policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.
  
• Understanding of and compliance with regulatory guidelines including but not limited to BSA, GLBA, etc. as the regulations pertain to the employee's job function.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; two years of college and an Associate degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as BSA Analyst.
• Understanding of merchant processing and obligations of an acquiring bank.
• Basic knowledge of Treasury Management products.
• Strong general banking experience to include client service issues and overall bank operations.
• Excellent written and communication skills, including ability to deal professionally with branch issues, problems, and questions.
• Complete knowledge and understanding of bank operations, policies and procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; good organizational, research and follow-up skills.
• Ability to interact with all levels of clients, staff, and management.
• Ability to work successfully in a deadline driven, team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Physical Demands / Work Environment
This is primarily a sedentary position that requires extensive computer work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit and use hands to type, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, and kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
In the performance of the duties of this job the employee is required to travel, drive a motor vehicle, and communicate using telephone and e-mail. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
