Junior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Information Technology Department.

Shift Details: Remote

 

Compensation:  $60,000 - $70,000 annually

Job Summary: The Junior Data Quality Assurance Engineer ensures the quality and reliability of data workflows, extract, transform, and load (ETL) pipelines, integrations, and migrations. This role involves executing test plans, identifying defects, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with the data team to maintain high data quality standards.

 

Travel required: Less than 10%

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

Develop and execute test plans and cases for ETL pipelines, data integrations, and migrations. 

Identify, document, and report data inconsistencies, defects, and performance issues. 

Perform manual and automated testing to validate data integrity and accuracy. 

Use SQL queries to verify datasets against business and technical requirements. 

Collaborate with the data team to troubleshoot, resolve issues, and verify fixes. 

Monitor and assess data quality metrics, recommending improvements. 

Participate in agile ceremonies, ensuring QA efforts align with sprint goals. 

Work with developers to enhance test automation processes. 

Assist in performance testing and root cause analysis for data issues. 

Perform additional duties as assigned within the nature and level of work.  

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with one year of experience in software testing. 
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and validating data. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Experience with test automation tools is a plus. 
• Experience with non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB) is a plus. 

 

Physical Requirements:

 

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
