K-5 Migrant Summer School Extended Day Para Educators (*5 positions available)
Location: Mission View Elementary
Grades: K-5
Mandatory Training Days: June 17 & 18, 2025
School Days: June 23-July 24, 2025 Mon-Thu*
Work Hours: 12:30-3:30 PM
*No School: Thu July 3, 2025
Extra hours available upon approval
Salary: $19.50 - $21.89
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist classroom teachers during extended day program.
- Facilitate specialized activities and projects for migrant qualified students during extended day program.
- Coordinate with program admin and staff to deliver services.
- Attend staff meetings and training as appropriate.
- Willing to accompany student on school related experiences.
- Willing to work schedule based on student attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required.
- Praxis or 72 college credits or AA degree required.
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish), but this does not exclude English-only applicants.
- Experience working with elementary or middle-school-aged children.
- Computer skills preferred (email, electronic grade book, word processing).
- Strong human relations skills for working well with faculty and staff. Desire to work with most at-risk students due to mobility and other factors that affect Migrant qualified students.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students.
- Skilled in reteaching math and/or reading skills.
- Ability and willingness to take direction from the classroom teacher and contribute to building level initiatives.
- Ability to work in noisy and crowded environments.
- Ability to keep records and other internal information confidential.
- Ability to ensure prolonged sitting or standing.
- Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position.
- Priority will be given to previous summer school paras and Wenatchee School District Employees.
