POSITION SUMMARY
The HR Generalist plays a key role in managing and supporting the day-to-day operations of our Human Resources department. Thisposition focuses on compliance, employee relations, training, benefits administration, and recruitment for our multistate restaurant and retail operations. The HR Generalist has a solid understanding of employment laws across multiple states, and a proactive approach to fostering a positive workplace culture. This role reports directly to the HR Manager and assists with other aspects of the Team Member Services department and Company priorities as outlined by the Executive Team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute team member services including but not limited to onboarding, compensation, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management; recruiting, team member recognition programs, team member surveys, occupational health and safety; training and development.
- Assists in management training in interviewing, hiring, retention, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
- Administer and process claims for workers' compensation, unemployment, disability and leaves of absence.
- Serve as a key resource for employee relations, providing guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related issues.
- Adheres to and is knowledgeable about to fair employment laws and practices
- Assist in administering employee benefits programs and facilitating annual enrollment.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate level.
- Conduct workplace investigations and ensure resolution of employee complaints or concerns.
- Maintain and update employee records, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Comply with federal, state, and city laws and regulations as well as company policies concerning team member services.
- Inform team members of on-going changes to the benefits structure and company policies.
- Assist with audits and reporting related to HR metrics, payroll, and compliance.
- Consult with team members regularly regarding team member benefit education and proper usage.
- Assist in the execution of approved changes and process improvements regarding team member services

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field strongly preferred
- 3 years of HR experience, including multistate experience specifically California and Colorado
- Proven ability to handle employee relations issues and conduct workplace investigations
- Proficient in Google Workspace and HRIS systems (ADP WFN preferred)
- PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP preferred
- Familiarity with the Hospitality industry preferred
- Valid State Driver's license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work on your feet for up to 12 hours
- Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching overhead
- Lifting products and supplies weighing 20 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
- Repetitive hand and wrist motion
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE EQUIVALENCY: Two years of the appropriate type and level of experience will serve as an equivalency to one year of education.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: This position is onsite. This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities or qualifications associated with this job. This is an exempt-level position. Scheduled hours vary by training and recruitment needs, including necessary adjustments made during high and low seasonal changes. Travel up to 20% between Westminster office and Denver Airport. Weekly, candidates should expect to work 45-50 hours a week potentially including late nights, weekends and holidays. We are a 24/7, 365 day operation. The successful candidate must be able to pass a background check with our company, with the TSA, a drug screen, and be insurable with a valid driver’s license.
