Mission Yogurt, Inc. is a boutique hospitality company that operates restaurants primarily in high traffic airports, including Denver International Airport, San Diego International Airport and John Wayne Airport. Mission operates a wide range of concepts, including fast food, fast-casual, full-service restaurants and bars and retail stores.
POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Specialist is responsible for managing POS systems, troubleshooting IT issues, and supporting day-to-day operational technology needs in a fast-paced food and beverage environment. This role is critical to ensuring seamless technology operations across our restaurant and retail locations. This position assists with POS configurations and database builds for new store opening and works with Operations to verify all technology based systems are functioning as intended. This position is located in the Denver International Airport.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with management team to understand the business and operational needs
- Configure, install, test and maintain POS systems and peripherals across all restaurant and retail locations
- Troubleshoot and resolve POS-related issues, including payment processing and hardware malfunctions
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems and work with POS vendors and/or third party technicians to resolve
- Train staff on POS software and functionality, ensuring smooth transactions and minimal downtime
- Manage POS system updates, menu changes, and software integrations
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues to locations
- Ensure uptime and performance of IT systems critical to operations, including Wi-Fi, printers, and inventory systems
- Monitor and maintain all IT equipment, including servers, workstations, and mobile devices
- Implement and oversee system backups to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness
- Maintain secure and reliable local area networks (LAN) and wireless networks (Wi-Fi) at all locations
- Implement cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive customer and business data, including PCI compliance for payment systems
- Monitor firewalls and ensure compliance with data protection regulations
- Support kitchen display systems (KDS), digital menu boards, and other restaurant-specific technologies
- Assist in integrating new technologies to improve operational efficiency and customer experience
- Collaborate with operations managers to identify and resolve recurring IT issues
- Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, including configurations, passwords, and troubleshooting procedures
- Provide regular reports on system performance, incidents, and completed projects
KEY SKILLS:
- Highly proficient oral and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong ability to balance multiple projects, work and communicate effectively in a team environment to meet project deadlines
- Solid understanding of building systems and processes
- Proven experience as an IT Specialist, preferably in the food and beverage or hospitality industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support non-technical staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
- 3 years of experience as an information specialist or project manager within the IT field
- Hands‐on experience with POS databases a must
- Working knowledge of any of the following Point of Sale systems, highly desired: Clover, Heartland, Aloha – any retail/table service systems a plus
- 2 years airport experience preferred
- Restaurant, quick serve experience preferred
- Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to pass a 10-year TSA mandated background check – our business is primarily conducted in airports.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE EQUIVALENCY: Two years of the appropriate type and level of experience will serve as an equivalency to one year of education.

Scheduled hours vary by training and recruitment needs, including necessary adjustments made during high and low seasonal changes. Travel up to 20%. Weekly, candidates should expect to work up to 45-50 hours a week potentially including late nights, weekends and holidays. On-call required. We are a 24/7, 365 operation. The successful candidate must be able to pass a background check with our company, with the TSA, a drug screen, and be insurable with a valid driver’s license.
