Mission Yogurt, Inc. is a boutique hospitality company that operates restaurants primarily in high traffic airports, including Denver International Airport and San Diego International Airport. Mission operates a wide range of concepts, including fast food, fast-casual and full-service restaurants and bars.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Purchasing and Pricing Analyst contributes to Mission Yogurt’s long term growth and profitability by managing the process of purchasing through vendors and the pricing structure of menu items. The Purchasing and Pricing Analyst is responsible for but not limited to evaluating the effectiveness of existing pricing models and formulating data-driven solutions to increase sales and maximize profits. This role is also responsible for sourcing products and managing vendor relationships. The Purchasing and Pricing Analyst will work at both our Corporate Office in Westminster and the Denver Airport.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setting up and maintaining relationships with vendors that provide high quality products and services at the best price.
- Continually appraising inventory levels, shortages, overages and readjusting ordering based on historical and current information.
- Collaborate and communicate with Operations and Executive management to ensure business goals are being met.
- Communicate with Operations to monitor product requests, par levels, and dead inventory.
- Negotiate pricing and payment coordination with vendors to ensure the best pricing and service.
- Analyze monthly food and beverage inventory to guide future procurement to ensure appropriate pricing is applied to all outlets.
- Create systems and procedures that improve efficiency in Operations and control costs across all locations.
- Developing company policies for purchasing, receiving, storing, and keeping track of product coming in and out of storage.
- Making operational recommendations on how to reduce inventory loss and change purchasing for menus and offerings based on department data.
- Utilize spreadsheets to guarantee the best purchasing decisions are being made.
- Standardizing reporting at each location to satisfy company needs.
- Providing the Operations team with education on restaurant financial concepts and department generated ideas.
- Project management of data and technology implementations when needed.
- Review theoretical versus actual food costs as generated by the department.
- Ability to develop a negotiation position that permits yourself and the vendor(s) an opportunity to reach agreements on fair and reasonable prices.
- Frequently compile, review, and analyze price and purchasing trends and data to draft various reports, guidance documents, and templates.
- Manage, analyze, and investigate inventory records taken by store operations to ensure the company standards are being followed.
- Responsible for menu item costing and real time analysis and monitoring to maximize profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 - 5 years experience in cost control, including purchasing, receiving, inventory, use, and waste procedures as well as review of new and existing menu costs
- Experience in the Restaurant and Hospitality industry required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Post-secondary degree in hospitality, accounting, or business preferred
- Must be able to pass a 10-year background check per TSA guidelines
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE EQUIVALENCY: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE EQUIVALENCY: Two years of the appropriate type and level of experience will serve as an equivalency to one year of education.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to work on your feet for up to 12 hours. Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching overhead and lifting products and supplies weighing 20 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds as well as repetitive hand and wrist motion.
