Mechanical Estimator
A general construction firm is looking for an experienced mechanical estimator with over 5 years of experience in estimating for large-scale, technical commercial construction projects. A background in process piping is advantageous. The estimator will be responsible for crafting accurate and detailed estimates for commercial projects in sectors including healthcare, education, high-tech, pharmaceuticals, and corporate environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide early-stage conceptual budgeting and estimation.
- Assist in the conceptual design process.
- Lead estimation efforts from initial design phases through to finalized construction documents, including quantification and pricing.
- Engage with subcontractors and vendors across multiple regional offices along the Northeast.
- Present cost estimates and budgets to clients and consultants.
- Prepare and analyze bid packages for mechanical, plumbing, fire safety, HVAC, and temperature control systems.
- Implement value management strategies to optimize cost-efficiency.
- Lead the procurement of subcontractors for various mechanical systems.
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining high-quality output.
- A team player who can resolve complex technical issues with efficiency.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with estimation software like WinEst and Onscreen Takeoff.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical estimation in technical construction projects.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic.
Salary : $125,000 - $175,000
