What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher position at Mississippi Action for Progress, Inc?
To provide a plan to implement and integrate child development activities for assigned children in such a manner that contributes to their growth and development and in accordance with best practices for serving young children according to the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
Location: Birmingham, Alabama Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of Early Childhood Development theories and practies in Head Start.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related area is preferred. Minimum: Associate's Degree in Early Chilhood or a related area and six months of experience working with children in an education setting or as a Head Start Teacher Assistant.
- Working knowledge of Head Start Performance, Head Start, and Childcare regulatory environment.
- Oral and written communication skills that facilitate and support positive feedback from parents and between staff at all operational levels.
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 40 per week
